The Board of Selectmen for the Town of Bingham will hold a public hearing at 7p.m., on Wednesday, June 17th, 2015, at Quimby Middle School 263 Main Street, Bingham Maine. The Board will receive public comments on the Proposed Town of Bingham Ordinance titled "Local Food and Community Self-Governance Ordinance"
A copy of the proposed Ordinance is on file with the Town Clerk and may be reviewed during normal business hours.
Interested residents are invited to attend the hearing and to be heard at that time.

Notice of Foreclosure Sale
The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Bingham is accepting bids for the purchase of the municipality's interest in (1) tax acquired property. Each bid must be in writing and in a sealed envelope marked "Foreclosure sale bid # 1" on the outside. All bids must be received by the Selectmen's Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 30th, 2015. Late bids will not be opened or considered.
Each bid must include the bidder's name, mailing address and phone number and must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to "Town of Bingham or ______________(the bider's name)", in an amount equal to or greater than 20% of the bidder's bid price. Each successful bidder's deposit will be credited to the total purchase price for that parcel. Deposits will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. Any bid which does not contain the proper deposit will be rejected.
Bids will be opened and reviewed at 7:00pm on June 30th, 2015 at the Municipal Building. Bids may be accepted by the Selectmen at their regular Selectmen's Meeting on June 30th, 2015 at 7:00p.m. The Board of Selectmen reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Each succesful bidder shall have 15 days from the date of the bid acceptance in which to complete the purchase. Each property will be conveyed by a quitclaim deed without covenants. In the event that a successful bider fails, for any reason, to complete the purchase in the time stated, the bid acceptance is void and the bidder's deposit shall be forfeited to the Town. The Board of Selectmen may thereafter negotiate a sale of the property with any or all unsuccessfull bidders.

Minimum Bid Price: Must cover all taxes due plus interest, penalties and costs.
The tax maps and other public information concerning the property may be reviewed at the Town Office during normal business hours, which are: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 12:00 Noon and 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
