Bingham, Maine

Located in Somerset County, Maine, Bingham is a town of more than 250 families along the Kennebec River, about 4 miles from Wyman Lake. Named for landowner William Bingham, the town was established in 1812.

Bingham Bicentennial

Bingham is preparing for its Bicentennial in 2012. A small group of volunteers has started planning (Please refer to the Town Calendar for meeting dates & times). If you would like to help in the preparations please show up to a meeting or call 1st Selectman, Steve Steward at 672-5519. Copies of old pictures, any type of memorabilia (Town reports, newspaper clippings, home movie clips, etc.) would be greatly appreciated. New ideas are always welcome! As reflected on the planned event schedule, Bingham's 2012 Bicentennial celebration begins on July 21, 2012 and continues through July 29. Please be sure to check here for event updates and last minute changes.

The next Bicentennial Meeting will be held Thursday June 14th at the Bingham History House (16 Sidney Street) at 6:30PM. EVERYONE is welcome!

IN MEMORY OF OUR FALLEN HEROES * * * Granite stones are available for purchase to be placed around the walkway at the Fallen Heroes Memorial at the Old Free Meeting House. For information contact James West or Steve Steward 672-5519. Price $75 per stone/one stone per person. Information needed: Name, War, Branch of Service, DOB & DOD. Quantities are Limited.

Tryouts for Town of Bingham Play "Our Town"
Tryouts for the play will be May 26-27 6:00pm at the Bingham High School located on Meadow Street. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE!
